Marcus Motorsports Debuts Factory Five Cobra Racing Team at VIR Stock Car Spectacular Sept. 3-5

Marcus Motorsports, a respected name in professional road racing, will debut three of their six Factory Five Cobras this weekend at the inaugural Virginia International Raceway Stock Car Spectacular.

Marcus Motorsports drivers Brian Cunningham, Hugh Plumb and Spencer Pumpelly will compete in the Factory Five Racing Series throughout the weekend at Virginia International Raceway. Cunningham, Plumb and Pumpelly are familiar names to road racing fans, competing in the Grand American Road Racing Association and the American Le Mans Series.

“Being a Virginia-based team, VIR is the perfect course to kick off our latest racing program with dedicated race fans and all the well-respected drivers competing this weekend,” stated Steve Marcus, Founder and President of Marcus Motorsports. “We are excited to present these high caliber drivers competing in the race-proven Factory Five Cobras.”

The Factory Five Feature Race will take place 12:00p.m. on Sunday, September 5th on the Full Course at VIR.

All six of the Marcus Motorsports Cobras are identically race-prepared vehicles equipped with 302 C.I. Mustang H.O. V8 engines, fiberglass bodies and weigh in at only 2,250 lbs. These Cobras will run 0-60 MPH is 4.6 seconds, 0-100 MPH in 13.6 seconds, the quarter-mile in 12.85 seconds and reach a top speed of 134 MPH.
