Getting the top down on your classic Mustang

Without question, the Mustang is one of the most popular cars around.  For well over 40 years, they have ranked high among car enthusiasts. Just in case you have been in a long coma, or hanging with Mr Van Winkle, the Mustang is manufactured by the Ford Motor Company.  Oddly, its design is originally based on the second generation Ford Falcon.

Mustangs debuted in April 1964, to a youth population clammering for an inexpensive sporty muscle car. The 2-door coupe with its standard bucket seats and 3 speed manual transmission ( on the floor ) filled the bill.  For Ford, the 1965 Mustang was its most successful model launch since the release of the Model A!

Over time, Mustangs have seen a number of body style and engine changes.  In 2004, the company released the fifth generation Mustang – which is the present version.  This latest version saw the return to some of the original, classic Mustang styling.  In a surprise move by Ford, they re-led the pack back to the past, with added style and muscle.  Chevy and Dodge have followed suit, finally, with updated versions of their original Camaro, Challenger, and Charger models – but Ford wins this one!

All Mustang owners take great pride in their cars, and should be doing everything possible to protect the finish and luster of them.  This translates to aftermarket accessories like Car Covers, Floor Mats, Seat Covers, and others.  For those with some of the older Mustang Convertibles, there is also hope from the aftermarketeers!  Today’s world offers a nice selection of replacement convertible tops that are made to fit your Mustang.

No longer the one-size-fits-all tops of the 50’s and 60’s, these are made to fit, in colors that match, and pieces designed to work!  The new tops of today are simple to install, with replacement back windows that easily zip in and out.  Most of the tops come with all the hardware you need to make your top look and work like new again!!!  So keep the dream alive and check out the Mustang Convertible Top webstores and get your replacement top now.  And then get back to cruising in style all over again!
